The Southeast China Early Neolithic tradition is found in what is now southeast China, Taiwan, and northern Vietnam and primarily dates from 9000 to 5500 BP. People lived in small, sedentary communities of 30-50 people. Although they domesticated rice and other wetland plants and raised pigs and chickens, most of their diet came from hunting, fishing, and gathering.
