Abstract
Simmons et al. describe the findings from the excavations at 'Ain Ghazal, a continuously occupied site from early to late Neolithic. This is unusual as many sites were abandoned or show temporal gaps. The site also documents an economic shift from a variety of wild and domestic plants and animals to an emphasis on pastoralism. Discussed are the chronology, probable population size, ritual and artistic behavior, environmental setting, and economy. This document also discusses Kohler-Rollesfson's model of communities that were segregated into spacially separate populations that independently operated animal husbandry or agriculture.
