Analyse pollinique de Zawi Chemi: Appendix III

early village site at Zawi Chemi Shanidar, by Rose L. Solecki13 • Published In 1981 • Pages: 77-80

By: Leroi-Gourhan, Arlette.

Abstract
The author discusses the difficulties inherent in pollen analysis. The village of Zawi Chemi lies in a dry steppe zone with few trees. Leroi-Gourhan identifies in the stratigraphy changes in the type and variety of plant vegetation starting with a few varities dominated by Chenopodia to its replacement in a later phase by a greater variety of Composite type plants. She poses the question whether the change was due to climate or by human cultivation techniques.
