Abstract
This work discusses burial practices during the 'Ubaid period and for the fifth millennium in general. Hole defines three dominant patterns of burials during the fifth millennium: 1)familial intramural interments, 2) segregation of infants for sub-floor disposal, 3)standardized disposal in tombs. These patterns are then seen in spatial and temporal perspective, related to ancillary evidence, and assessed in relation to demographic and social processes (p149).
