The third-millennium inscriptions

Excavations at Tell Brak2 • Published In 2001 • Pages: 99-120

By: Eidem, J. (Jesper), Finkel, Irving L., Bonechi, Marco.

Abstract
Eidem et al. summarize evidence that Tell Brak was Nagar, the capital of a powerful kingdom located in northern Syria, during the 44th century BP (24th century BC). They do this by examining texts from contemporary Mari, Beydar, and Ebla. They then provide a complete overview of the late third millenium inscriptions from Tell Brak, 79 in all. They provide interlinear translations for most of the texts and offer comments.
