Abstract
'The archaeological deposits at Dust Cave were first probed in 1989 as part of a project sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority ... By the summer of 1991, it was clear that Dust Cave contained a deeply stratified set of archaeological deposits of the Archaic stage and that integrity and organic preservation were excellent. Additional probing verified the presence of discrete Late Paleoindian deposits at the base of the sequence. This paper has attempted to present and summarize extant data on this component and the subsequent Early Side-Notched component.' (page 329).
