Abstract
McGahey divides the state into four physiographic regions and five subperiods to discuss the archaeological record for the Paleoindian and Early Archaic periods. The subperiods are defined by projectile point types and include data from private collections. 'The four regions are discussed [in the body of this document]. Assessments are made of what is known for each in terms of chronology and settlement and subsistence patterns. In the concluding sections of each regional discussion, recommendations are made concerning priorities for additional work.' (page 357).
