Bison procurement

Agate Basin site : a record of the Paleoindian occupation of the northwestern High Plains, by George C. Frison, Dennis J. StanfordNew York • Published In 1982 • Pages: 263-269

By: Frison, George C..

Abstract
Frison discusses how the Agate Basin site was used to hunt bison. Hunting was partly dependent on knowledge of how bison act during the winter when they move onto windswept ridges to look for feed. It is at that time that they can be hazed into an arroyo that had been modified into a trap. Frison discusses how modern day bison react when herded and what kind of landforms are conducive to being used as traps.
