Early Holocene vertebrate fauna

Agate Basin site : a record of the Paleoindian occupation of the northwestern High Plains, by George C. Frison, Dennis J. StanfordNew York • Published In 1982 • Pages: 274-308

By: Walker, Danny N..

Abstract
Walker uses the various vertebrate fauna found at the site, including ones introduced culturally and post-depositionally, to reconstruct the paleoenvironment for the region from the late glacial to the Pre-Boreal periods (13,000 BP-9140 BP). Walker also compares the fauna found in the Agate Basin site to the modern fauna in the area. The comparison of the fauna from Folsom to Hell Gap levels indicates the climate changed from glacial-like to half way to modern within approximately 400 years.
