Arctic anthropology19 (2) • Published In 1982 • Pages: 75-91

By: Nowak, Michael.

Abstract
Nowak conducted excavations and analyzed the archaeological collection from site XNI-028 on Nunivak Island. The assemblage is assigned to the Duchikmiut phase of the island's chronology and is considered a Norton culture. The author compares changes in the material culture with other Norton assemblages on the mainland. At XNI-028, Norton culture appears well developed by the time of its appearance around 150 B.C.
