By: Lukens, Paul W..

Abstract
Lukens describes and presents an analysis of the vertebate faunal remains from Pike Bay, Smith, and McKinistry Mounds (burial mounds) that were excavated by Lloyd A. Wilford. Fish bone was not identified to the species level. The Laurel people's protein came mostly from fish (mostly sturgeon), beaver, and moose. Lukens also examines the likely seasons each site would have been occupied.
