Abstract
Webster '…describes the stone, bone, antler, tooth, shell, bark, and copper artifacts excavated from the Laurel sites of northern Minnesota…' (page 94). Webster also describes the Blackduck artifacts since '…both Laurel and Blackduck remains are mixed in the same sites. A detailed description of the nonceramic artifacts should help to dispel some of the confusion [as to which artifact belongs to which culture.]' (page 94). However, only the data pertaining to the Laurel phase were indexed for Outline of Cultural Materials (OCM) codes.
