Abstract
This review of the knowledge and definition of the Northern Archaic tradition examines sites with notched-points in published and grey literature, and the Alaska Heritage Resources Survey. Over 200 sites are catalogued by age, location, environment, and material culture. Although dates range from 10780 to 1220 BP, critical assessment of the radiocarbon evidence indicates the tradition mainly dates from 6000-3000 BP.
