Abstract
The author describes excavations, stratigraphy, past environment, and archaeological findings—mainly lithic artifacts—for the multicomponent site of Onion Portage, ranging from the Paleo-Arctic tradition (Akmak and Kobuk complexes) through the Itkillik complex at circa 1500 BP. Northern Archaic materials date from 5800-4100 BP and are found from stratigraphic band 5, level 2 through band 7.
