Abstract
Some authors had contended that Perkiomen points could not have been used as projectile points. Instead, Bare Island and Lackawaxen Stemmed points were sugested as the points used by the hunters of the Perkiomen culture. Kraft examines several sites in the Upper Delaware River Valley and determines the Perkiomen people were hunter-gatherers who exploited several different environments, hunted a wide range of animals, and used lithic resources some distance from the Upper Delaware River Valley. In addition, the Perkiomen sites date later than the sites that contain Bare Island and Lackawaxen points, although, the Perkiomen people may have found and reused these points. Various Perkiomen tools are discussed along with other broadpoints. For another article on Perkiomen points see eHRAF document no. 19.
