The Hohokam village

hohokam village : site structure and organizationGlenwood Springs, Colo. • Published In 1987 • Pages: 1-20

By: Doyel, David E. (David Elmond).

Abstract
Doyel discusses the background of archaeological work in southern Arizona and the problems with different authors having different chronologies for the Hohokam. He also describes previous research that has been done on Hohokam villages. Due to federal environmental legislation of the 1960s and 1970s there is now much more archaeological work being done and some of the more basic questions about Hohokam settlement patterns and site structure are being answered. Doyel then discusses the various papers presented in the volume on the Hohokam Village (eHRAF document nos. 16 - 29).
