Excavations at Snaketown, Harold S. Gladwin, Emil W. Haury, E. B. Sayles, Nora Gladwin (25) • Published In 1965 • Pages: 36-49

By: Haury, Emil W. (Emil Walter).

Abstract
Haury describes in this document the excavation of two ball courts, called 'Court 1' and :'Court 2', at the Snaktown archaeological site in southern Arizona. The author describes the construction of these courts, compares the two, and attempts to provide a chronological profile of their dates of construction based primarily on the evaluation of the sherds found in the earth fill of the courts. Comparisons are made throughout the text to the ball courts of Middle America. A brief summary is also given on how the ball game was played.
