Excavations of Aztec urban houses at Yautepec, Mexico

Abstract
This report is a discussion of recent excavations at the site of Yautepec in the Mexican state of Morelos that have uncovered a large set of residential structures from an Aztec city. Seven houses with asssociated middens, as well as several middens without architecture were excavated. This paper reviews the excavations, describes earch house, and summarizes the nature of contruction materials and methods employed. Comparisons of the Yautepec houses with other known Aztec houses are made with some preliminary inferences on the relationship between house size and wealth at the site (p. 133).
