Abstract
Coapexco and Tlatilco both date to the Early Horizon period (1400-950 BC) in the Basin of Mexico, and represent two of the possible four of the earliest known sedentary communities in the region (Tapacoya and possibly Cuicuilco being the others). This study examines each community in turn describing the pottery, figurines, obsidian, and ground stone artifacts from Coapexco, and the graves and grave goods from Tlatilco showing Olmec influences.
