Abstract
This paper presents a detailed study of the botanical remains found at Santo Domingo Tomaltepec and describes the range of plants under cultivation, the relative importance of domesticates versus wild plants and annuals growing in the fields, and changes in the productivity of cultivation through time (p. 186). The botanical data presented here refers primarily to the Early Formative period at Tomaltepec, particularly to the Tierras Largas and San José phases, and to the Rosario phase of the Middle Formative period.
