Abstract
Zeitlin summarizes the results of the 1980, 1981, and 1982 field seasons for the Belize Archaic Archaeological Reconnaissance project. He also describes what was done during the 1983 field season without discussing the results. Zeitlin helped direct the operations during the 1982 field season. Six sites found near three different locales (Betz Landing, Sand Hill, and Ladyville) and their collections are described in this article. Three Archaic period components within the 7000 B.P.-4000 B.P. time period are described (Belize, Melinda, and Progreso). As there were few absolute dates, the time periods for these components are tentative.
