Abstract
Dikov describes the early stone-tool-using cultures of northeastern Russia from the Paleolithic up to the first Russian explorers in the 16th to 17th centuries A.D. Part of his goal was to examine the cross-cultural influences as seen in the stone tool types between the Old World and the New World across the Bering Strait. Only the sites and information that pertain to the Tarya Neolithic (or Tar'in) were indexed for OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) subjects. These sites are found in the Kamchatka river valley and Avacha Bay, Kamchatka; Russia. In the Kamchatka river valley these sites had similar stratigraphy due to volcanic ash fall. Ushki Cultural Layers II-IV were indexed as pertaining to the Tarya Neolithic. The location of the sites, stone tools, and labrets are discussed in detail.
