Abstract
This dissertation is based on the Paul S. Goldstein's field research conducted at the Omo site groups in the Department O Moquegua, Peru, in the years 1983-1984, and 1986-1987. Although the primary focus of this work is on the study of the domestic area within the Omo site complex, Goldstein's analysis of the archaeological evidence throws light on early trade relations in the region, as well as on Tiwanaku as an expansive state, settlement patterns, ceremonial and mortuary contexts at the site, and domestic patterning. A lengthy section of this work explains the author's methodology. Data on the Chen Chen and Tumilaca phases have not been indexed for OCM subjects since they deal with time periods outside the temporal range of Andean Regional Development
