Abstract
The 65 ceramic sherds with fineline drawings from excavation of habitational areas at Pacatnamu in the Jequetepeque Valley are examined for insights into their distribution, iconography, chronology, and source. Fineline ceramics were elite wares that may not have been solely created as burial offerings. Comparisons to a photo archive of such designs aided in determining what the completed design may have looked like, and the place of each in the stylistic sequence; most pertain to Moche V.
