Abstract
Kolata uses this last chapter to, '…expand upon some elements of general social theory that influenced the manner in which [he] framed [his] research questions…' (page 265). He discusses some of the organizational principles of the Tiwanaku state. He concludes by 'foreshadow[ing the] theoretical and interpretive directions…' (page 280) that will be developed further in an additional volume.
