By: Meadow, Richard H..

Abstract
Meadow writes about, '…northwestern South Asia and the first two agricultural transformations, namely, those that took place between about 7500 and 5500 BC and between about 2500 and 1500 BC.' (page 390). Only the material that pertains to the earlier transformation was indexed for OCM (Outline of Cultural Materials) codes and most of this early material comes from the site of Mehrgarh. Included in this discussion on Neolithic Mehrgarh are the domestication of cereal crops, perhaps cotton, and goats, sheep, and cattle.
