This document presents an analysis of surface collections of stone tools and flakes of various materials from a large number of Paleo-Eskimo sites in the Sisimiut district of western Greenland. Most of the material from these sites comes from the Saqqaq culture with some artifacts from the later Dorset period used by the author for comparative purposes. This paper describes this material and proposes a method of dating the Paleo-Eskimo sites using what the author calls 'beach ridge chronology', a system relating settlement patterns with sea levels during specific time periods.
