Chilcotin archaeology: the direct historic approach

problems in the prehistory of the north american subarctic : the athapaskan questionCalgary • Published In 1977 • Pages: 97-101

By: Wilmeth, Roscoe.

Abstract
Wilmeth discusses his excavations at the Potlatch site (FcSi - 2). He uses a direct historic approach to work out the archaeology of the Chilcotin in historic times and to link this data with prehistoric sites in the area. Wilmeth believes the Chilcotin did not enter the area until after A.D. 1200, after the area had been abandoned by earlier peoples.
