Preceramic PHASEOLUS from Guilá Naquitz

guilá naquitz : archaic foraging and early agriculture in oaxaca, mexicoOrlando • Published In 1986 • Pages: 281-284

By: Kaplan, Lawrence.

Abstract
Kaplan presents the evidence for beans from Guilá Naquitz Cave. He discusses the evidence for domestication, finding no clear proof of it during the Archaic even though domesticated beans are known other Early Archaic sites. Here, all domesticated beans appear intrusive from later occupations. (Portions dealing with the identifying traits of domestication are indexed for ORGANIZATION AND ANALYSIS OF RESULTS OF RESEARCH [128].)
