Abstract
This is a brief introductory article to eHRAF documents 8-29 which appear in this file. The authors attempt to define the Postclassic period and to point out several themes to be found in the analysis of the data from this time period (e.g., trade, coastal or riverine settlements associated with trade, militarism, and internal and external population movements).
