Abstract
This document discusses the archaeology and historical records for Shandong, from the central mountains to the eastern seaboard or Haidai region, mainly during the middle to late Shang dynasty. The author is interested in understanding indigenous peoples, such as the Yueshi, who lived in the Haidai, and how the Shang attempted to control that region. There is some discussion of the area until the middle Western Zhou dynasty.
