AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
The author describes in detail the landscape, excavations, and findings from the site of Patne. Prior to this investigation it was not widely accepted that there was an Upper Paleolithic in India. The excavations uncovered a lithic assemblage extending from the Middle Paleolithic to the Mesolithic, and produced early evidence of Upper Paleolithic art.
