Abstract
This is a brief survey of the archaeological site of Chirand located in Saran district, north Bihar, India. The author discusses apparent reasons for the settlement of Neolithic people at Chirand, the geography of the region, agriculture, and the lithic, bone tool, and ceramic industries. In closing, Narain makes comparisons between this site and other Neolithic sites in India.
