Abstract
Bibikova examines horse remains from Eastern Europe. Bibikova is able to highlight the different emphasis different cultures placed on the horse economically. In those cultures west of the Dnieper horse remains made up less than ten percent of the ungulate faunal material whereas in the zone to the east of the Dnieper horse remains can be as high as 80 percent of ungulate remains. Bibikova also examines the possible locations for the earliest horse domestication.
