The Ntereso culture in Ghana

west african culture dynamics : archaeological and historical perspectivesThe HaguePublished In 1980 • Pages: 205-225

By: Davies, Oliver.

Abstract
The author conducted field surveys in Ghana between 1952 and 1966, and excavated at Ntereso in 1962; this document is a condensation of the final report. The Kintampo culture contributed to the material culture at Ntereso, but there are other influences, perhaps from farther north in the Sahara. The artifacts are described— including ceramics, decoration, weapons, and tools—and the diet and economy are discussed.
