Abstract
This is a summary of findings in expanded excavations at the Korounkorokalé rockshelter, occupied from late in the Late Stone Age into the Iron Age. The researchers found a microlithic chipped stone industry, ground stone artifacts and ceramics, but few faunal or floral remains. The site also has a small amount of iron-working debris. The author compares Korounkorokalé to contemporary sites and proposes a model for the peopling of West Africa.
