natufian culture in the levantAnn Arbor, Mich.Published In 1991 • Pages: 1-7

By: Bar-Yosef, Ofer, Valla, François Raymond.

AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
An international conference on the Natufian occurred in June 1989. Fifty-one scholars (archaeologists, zooarchaeologists, palynologists, microwear analysts, and palaeobontonists) were invited. Bar-Yosef and Valla introduce the papers that were submitted to this volume, along with a few short site reports that were not included in the original conference. These papers compose the remainder of the documents in the Epipaleolithic collection (eHRAF documents nos. 11-48). Bar-Yosef and Valla also describe past research and findings of the Natufian tradition and propose some future research.
