By: Bar-Yosef, Ofer.

AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
Bar-Yosef summarizes the Pre-Pottery Neolithic (PPNA, PPNB, and PPNC) that he states extends from 10,300/10,000-5700/5500 BP This is probably a typo and the dates should read 10300/10,000 BP-7500 BP; especially as the title lists the dates as 8000-5500 and these dates should be BC He summarizes settlement patterns, lithic technologies, plant and animal domestication, human remains, art and cult objects, and a little bit about their probable social structure. The end of the article sumarizes his work at Nahal Hemar Cave in Israel where many unique items were preserved (such as baskets, fabric, and bone artifacts).
