Abstract
Merpert and Munchaev describe their excavations at Yarim Tepe III; their findings are discussed by field season and strata. They describe the architecture, ovens or kilns, figurines, stone tools, bone tools, seals, ornaments, and ceramics - describing some of the painted decorations in detail. Plans of some of the levels, drawings of some of the artifacts, and photos of some of the architecture and excavations are included. A few burials were encountered during their excavations. At this site, there seems to be a smooth transition to the Ubaid period, with an Ubaid settlement lying directly ontop the latest Halaf level and no period of abandonment of the site.
