Abstract
This monograph, in Russian, presents a detailed study of Scythian social history and social organization as well as information on the development and functioning of society among ancient nomadic groups on the Eurasian steppes, and a general view of common and specific traits in social organization and social history of the nomads on the Eurasian steppes (p. 334). The work analyzes the various types of documentary material written about the Scythians, and includes data on the use of Scythian ethnogonic legend as a historical source, family and marriage, the reconstruction of the main forms of social organization in Scythian society, social stratification and forms of exploitation existing in Scythian society, and the history of Scythian statehood and its place among nomadic state formation on the Eurasian steppes.
