This document presents the 'full publication of all accessible material from the 1920s excavations at Jemdet Nasr, excluding objects in the Iraq Museum, Baghdad.' (page ix). Matthews describes the 1920s excavations and findings, presents drawings and photos of many of the items, and adds clarification on the location and size of the buildings (especially the large building on Mound B) found in the 1920s by using field notes and information gathered from his 1988 and 1989 field work.
