Abstract
Hassan analyzed the lithic collections from 10 'occurrences' from the Dishna Plain near Qena. The remains from these occurrences consisted only of lithic artifacts. Hassan compares the artifacts from the Dishna Plain with other Late Paleolithic lithic industries found throughout the Nile Valley. The artifacts can be broken into Sebilian and Isnan industries. Using faunal material from contemporary sites, Hassan attempts to reconstruct the environment and population size at the time the occurrences were in use.
