Abstract
Lubell describes the Late Paleolithic archaeological data from five sites around the Deir El-Fakhuri locality 11 kilometers northwest of Esna and to the west of the Nile. The fieldwork was part of the various fieldwork undertaken prior to the completion of the Aswan High Dam. Lubell gives the assemblage the name of Fakhurian. Found were lithic artifacts and bone. The bone indicates the diet consisted of fish and land and aquatic mammals. The various stone tools and lithic technologies used to create them are discussed in detail.
