Abstract
Friedman writes about a ceremonial center (shrine) found at Hierakonpolis. this religious center was in use from the Naqada II period up into the first dynasty. Excavation revealed stuctures arranged around a courtyard and fence, with at least one standard. pottery and stone tools were found. Some archaeological indications of the ceremonies conducted there were found. In addition to maps of the findings, reconstructed drawings of the center are provided.
