By: Noble, William C..

Abstract
Noble re-examines the data on the Taltheilei Shale Tradition, which he initially defined in 1969. This Proto-Athapaskan tradition started around 600 B.C. and continues into this century. The historic Yellowknife-Chipewyan Athapaskans are considered to be the descendants of this tradition. Noble covers the origins, chronological and spatial distribution, and describes the complexes within this Tradition.
