He discusses Nebo Hill as it is found in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri and then discusses in greater detail, his excavations at the type site, 23CL11. 'The Nebo Hill phase represents a hunting and gathering, potter-equipped population…. No evidence for Nebo Hill cultigens has yet been recovered, but tree-felling tools, hoe bits, and site locational regularities may point to supplemental gardening at the large upland settlements….'
