Abstract
Gamble's dissertation discusses her findings from the excavations and analysis at HELO', an ethnohistoric Chumash village. The main findings were two intact house floors, an extremely rare occurrence on the Santa Barbara mainland. The ethnohistoric, ethnographic, and archaeological literature were reviewed as they pertain to HELO' and to Chumash structures in general.
