Abstract
Adovasio discusses the textiles, in this case basketry and construction materials, found during the excavations. The collection includes twined and coiled baskets, bags, mats, and trays. The 'construction materials include all single vegetal fibers; randomly bunched fibers; knotted and twisted fibers; braided fibers; and a variety of other items which ... belong in this analysis because of their potential use in textile production or as representatives of the detritus resultant from textile production.' (page 133). Coiling was the prefered technique with one-rod and bundle foundation the dominant method. This method of coiling is able to produce a container that is impermeable without caulking and may have been the reason for its popularity. This collection is compared to the materials found at Danger Cave. Only the data that pertain to unit I are marked for Outline of Cultural Material (OCM) codes.
