Abstract
This study discusses a new stage in the Cochise cultural sequence that is transitional between the Sulphur Spring and Chiricahua stages. This intermediate stage has been designated Cazador, after the name of an old community near Douglas, Arizona. The paper presented here discusses the excavation methods used at the site, the geology of the area, and the artifacts uncovered such as chipped and ground stone tools, milling stones, hearthstones, and the pollen and radiocarbon dating methods used in determining the relative age of the site.
