By: Gregory, David A..

Abstract
Gregory describes Classic period platform mounds and their compounds, where they are located and their placement within a site. He finds they are constructed in a similar manner and are placed in a simnilar manner within their compounds. Where ballcourts occur they are consistently placed in relation to the platform mounds. All of these features indicate they define a central focus at many sites.
